Dr. Gerhard de Haan

Dr. Gerhard de Haan is part of the MECCE Project’s Indicator Expert Group. He has been active in educational research for over 20 years and has carried out numerous extensive research and development projects. Dr. de Haan was chairman of the German National Committee of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005–2014), is a scientific advisor in the subsequent global action program on education for sustainable development and chairman of the German Society for Environmental Education. He also works on numerous national and international committees. He is a consultant for foundations, ministries and research institutions, among others for the Fonds National de la Recherche Luxembourg as rapporteur. He has over 300 publications on topics, such as “Education for Sustainable Development”, “Knowledge Society”, “Risk Research”, “Cultural History”, “Education and the Future”.
