Dr. Allison Bowers

Alison is a Research Associate working on the MECCE Project’s Knowledge Syntheses on interdisciplinary perspectives related to climate change communication and education. She is based at Stanford University where she is a consulting Research Associate with the Stanford Social Ecology Lab of Professor Nicole Ardoin. Her scholarship focuses on design and process, and she is particularly interested in various approaches to research reviews as well as grounded theory methodology. Her work on systematic reviews has most recently focused on conservation outcomes and early childhood environmental education, and she is currently doing work in relation to civic engagement and positive youth development. She holds a PhD in Educational Research and Evaluation from Virginia Tech, an EdS in Early Childhood Special Education from George Washington University, a MFRC with a Certificate in Environmental Education and Communication from the University of Florida, and a BA in Psychology from the University of South Carolina.
